WiFi Surveillance at DEF CON 24 presented at saintcon 2016

by Michael Spicer,

Summary : Lots of information is encoded on electromagnetic radiation, including WiFi. The aim of this project was to listen to the WiFi bands (2.4gHz/5gHz) using multiple fixed locations during DEF CON, the largest hacker conference in the world and see if we pick up anything interesting. This presentation will discuss the hardware decisions, what software is used, how to build and configure your own WiFi monitoring devices and analyze the information captured. Additional topics will be security implications of the data captured, how multiple fixed location nodes can support device tracking and the lulz.
