Summary : When a cyber-attack occurs against 50 companies, two always detect the attack. The other 48 never get the word. Therein lies the problem with cyber defense today. Jeff Brown, vice president and CISO at Raytheon Company, believes we need to change the discussion from information sharing, which is about the victim, to indicator sharing, which is about the attacker. When you change the conversation, impediments to sharing disappear and the challenge becomes getting the word out quickly and in a form that can be used by companies without deep cyber security expertise.
Session discovery topics:
Information versus indicators
Collaboration requirements of the other 48
A national model for sharing indicators
