Social Engineering for the "Socially Inept" presented at REcon 2008

by Sharon Conheady, Alex Bayly,

Summary : Social Engineering For the "Socially Inept" will show how skills commonly thought of as "geeky" can be used to great success in social engineering. Social Engineering is traditionally seen, especially in films, as the province of the charismatic hacker, requiring an understanding of Rapport, Neuro-Linguistic Programming, and other techniques for social interaction. This talk will demonstrate how common geek attributes, whether true or part of the stereotype can be used to the social engineer's advantage on an exercise.
