Summary : This paper shows that accelerometers on smartphones possess unique fingerprints, i.e., they respond differently to the same stimulus. The differences in responses are subtle enough that they do not affect the rated functionality. Nonetheless, we demonstrate that, upon close inspection, these fingerprints emerge with consistency, enabling user tracking without cookies.
