Exploit Development for New Platforms Based on 64-bits presented at HackInTheBox 2014

by Juan Sacco,

Summary : Since every single CPU being sold in the last few years is 64 bits, it’s time to start getting familiar with it. Being on the offensive side of the fence this talk will explore the differences between x86 and x86-64 (relevant to this topic) and compare how a simple vulnerable program written in C translates to both instruction sets. I will also cover all the exploit development process on real world examples (x86-64 brings some completely new features like for example conditional moves). This talk is going to be 100% practical
