Summary : When an underground explosion knocked out power at The Standard’s downtown Portland headquarters, Laxman Subramanian put the company’s business continuity plan into action. Designed to maintain the company’s CIA — confidentiality, integrity and availability — Subramanian and his leadership found that, while effective in enabling the business to move forward (albeit at a diminished capacity), there were many lessons learned; some of which an IT leader might never consider.
