Modern Threat Defense – Hiding in Plain Sight presented at CISOGlobalSummit 2014

by Dave Frymier, Zouhair Guelzim, Jay Weinstein,

Summary : With many types of advanced malware creeping through networks almost undetectable, CISOs are working on combat strategies. Does this evolution mean legacy security tools — anti-virus, advanced malware protection, IDS, IPS to name a few — are no longer useful? How can security organizations defend against consumer devices and “bring your own apps” that are now running on their networks? This discussion will examine the continued usefulness of old tools and explore how one of the oldest tools around — risk analysis — can be used together with properly implemented encryption to hide an organization’s most valuable assets as part of a modernized defense posture.
Executive boardrooms are intimate and interactive sessions designed to foster dynamic dialogue around a specific, strategic topic. These private, closed-door discussions encourage attendee participation and are limited to 20 attendees.
