Summary : This presentation describes the technology associated with small unmanned aerial vehicles, more commonly known as drones. There are thousands of personal and commercial uses for drones as data collectors, including agriculture crop inspection, public safety incident response, and insurance loss estimation. The Federal Aviation Administration has recently developed a proposal for the operation of these aircraft which provide guidelines about their safe use and operation. In addition, the presentation will include a brief discussion of the privacy and data security considerations of drone technology.
