Summary : Specific test-beds have been implemented to characterize the entry point for an attacker and the possible information that an attacker could retrieve when targeting multiple GPS-enabled trackers. The study will highlight possible ways to compromise a set of devices found in the market. During the last decades, it has been shown a high interest to deploy GPS-enabled trackers in the professional and private sectors to have a real-time access to the location of cars, trucks and expensive/sensitive goods. Nevertheless, few studies have been performed to estimate the risks for the privacy and security of the GPS-enabled modules. We propose in this paper to analyze the implications of using these devices in a private and professional environment. Specific testbeds have been designed to characterize the entry point for an attacker and the possible information that an attacker could retrieved. The study will highlight possible ways to compromise a set of devices found in the market.
